Sophomore Kevin McKniff knocked down a team-high 18 kills while hitting .708 and senior Isaac Kneubuhl added 14 as fourth-ranked Cal State Northridge won its eighth straight match, 30-24, 30-22, 20-30, 30-25 over host UC San Diego on Saturday.

Junior Eric Vance and senior Isaac Kneubuhl combined for 42 kills as fourth-ranked Cal State Northridge held on to upset second-ranked Long Beach State 30-28, 25-30, 30-24, 26-30, 15-13 on Friday at the Gold Mine.

Fourth-ranked Cal State Northridge (12-4, 8-3 MPSF) opens a brief two-match road trip this Friday, Feb. 29 as the Matadors face the second-ranked 49ers of Long Beach State (12-1, 8-1 MPSF). The road trip concludes on Saturday as Northridge travels to La Jolla to take on UC San Diego (4-12, 1-10 MPSF) also at 7 p.m.
