Matadors to Hold Open Tryouts for Northridge Students |

The Cal State Northridge Men's Soccer team is holding open tryouts for the 2008 fall season, head coach Terry Davila announced Friday. A mandatory meeting will be held February 18th for all interested students with actual tryouts to be held the following day.

Sean Franklin Selected Fourth Overall at MLS SuperDraft |

Sean Franklin, who patrolled the back line for the Matadors for four years, was selected by the Los Angeles Galaxy with the fourth overall selection Friday in the 2008 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, becoming the earliest-selected Matador in the event's history. Franklin becomes the fourth Matador selected in the Superdraft and is the first-ever first-rounder for the University.

Sean Franklin spent four seasons patrolling the back line for Matador men's soccer and moonlighted as a men's U-20 and U-23 United States National Team member. Now, the 22-year old is back in training camp with the U-23 National Team and is also preparing for the MLS Superdraft combine, where he will showcase his talents for the MLS executives considering him with their first round picks. This week, Franklin answered questions for GoMatadors.com about his Northridge career, the National Team, and a future in the MLS.
