There is something about playing at UCI’s Bren Center that brings out the absolute best in the Anteaters basketball team. Entering Saturday night’s game against first place Cal State Northridge, the Anteaters had won all ten home on-campus games (9-0 at the Bren Center, 1-0 at Crawford Court). CSUN became the tenth visiting team to leave the Bren Center with a loss, a 82-66 decision on Saturday night.

“It’s time” ... The words are few, but they loom large. Cal State Northridge head coach Bobby Braswell has been reminding the Matadors that “it’s time”. Three more Big West games awaits CSUN (19-7 overall, 11-2 BWC), including another tough assignment on the road at UC Irvine (13-14 overall, 7-6 BWC) on Saturday (3/1/08, 8:30 p.m.). The game will be televised on Fox Sports Prime Ticket.

CSUN Wins Emotional, Tough, Hard-Earned Decision At Cal State Fullerton, 82-74 |

In their four year careers at Cal State Northridge, Jonathan Heard and Calvin Chitwood had never beaten Cal State Fullerton. That all came to an abrupt end on Thursday night in the hostile environment of Titan Gym as Heard and Chitwood combined for 29 points and 13 rebounds to help propel the first place Matadors to a highly emotional, tough, hard-fought 82-74 victory over the second place Titans.
